Kerala Lalithakala Akademi announced 2017 winners of the state awards for painting and sculptures
Winners of the state award for paintings section are:

    Sajith Puthukkalavattom for Wings of Earthworms
    Sindhu Divakaran, of Angamaly and Jagesh Edakkad, of Kannur, for Glance from the Past-7
    Best sculpture award - Sajin S S, of Naloorvatom, Thiruvanthapuram

Shinoj Akaraparambil for Realm of Infinite Space, Dhanya N C for Organic Sustenance, Smitha Gini for Neela and Gayathri for The Magical World of Adoor. Sree Kumar K Unnikrishnan won Special Mention for his sculpture Balloons. The winners in the student category for paintings include Arun Ravi, from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Vivek Das M M, from Government College of Fine Arts, Thrissur, and Rinku P A, from RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithra. Helna Merin Joseph, from Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts.

Akademi chairman T.A. Sathyapal announced the awards in which winners were selected by a three-member jury comprising Ramakrishna Vedala from Andhra Pradesh, Yusuf from Madhya Pradesh, and Asma Menon from Tamil Nadu. The winners were decided from 243 entries.

Minister A K Balan will present the awards to the winners on August 19 at the Ernakulam Durbar hall.
